From June 4 to 13, 2025, the School of Business Administration (SBA) at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) successfully held its sixth Global Academy Summer Camp, which attracted 40 international faculty members and students from 16 universities across 13 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malaysia, Russia, Slovakia, South Korea, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
Under the theme "Discover China: Tradition and Modernization", the summer camp consisted of a series of academic and cultural activities, including 4 academic lectures, 2 cultural workshops, 3 cultural tours, and 2 company visits. Professors from SBA delivered specialized lectures on "Digital Transformation", "China's New Economic Paradigm", "Blockchain Technology Applications", and "Machine Learning", elucidating China's digital technology innovations and applications and new economic development models. Participants visited International Urban Design Industry Centre and Volvo Car Chengdu Manufacturing Plant, combining with case-study and group presentations to enhance interdisciplinary competencies. The programme also featured cultural immersion activities at landmarks such as the Chengdu Panda Base and Kuanzhai Alley, with hands-on workshops in Chinese paper-cutting, Chinese cooking, and practical Mandarin learning, offering profound engagement with China's cultural heritage.
Participants unanimously affirmed that the experience not only fostered international friendships and broadened academic perspectives, but also allowed them to experience SWUFE's vibrant scholarly environment alongside Sichuan's unique culture and cuisine, thereby cultivating fresh understanding of Chinese culture. The School of Business Administration remains committed to developing its "Study at SWUFE" brand with distinctive business disciplinary features, continually building high-level exchange platforms for global young scholars.
